Xiaomi Note 7S Reviews, Specs
The
Redmi Note 7S was officially launched on 20 May, 2019. The new
smartphone features a dual rear camera out of which is 48 MP primary
along with a 5 MP enabling depth sensor, dual tone LED flash, HDR,
panorama. The rear camera is setup in a vertical array of two cameras
which do not allign with the back and bulge out along with the LED flash
below both the cameras. 7s is the second 48 MP smartphone of Xiaomi
& its price starts from 10,999/- for a 3GB/32GB version &
12,999/- for the 4GB/64GB version. 7S went on sale on 23 May 2019 via Mi website and over Flipkart.
The 7S runs on Android 9.0 Pie enhanced with MIUI 10. 7S has a hybrid dual SIM and the SIM tray is placed on the left side of the phone in which you can either use 2 nano SIMs of 1 SIM and 1 microSD card.Its Packed with a Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 (14 nm) Chipset as same in Redmi Note 7 but is bit less than Snapdragon 675 used in Redmi Note 7 Pro. Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 260) CPU along with an Adreno 512 GPU. For Game lovers, you can easily play any large game for e.g. PubG, Asphalt etc without any lag or frame skip.Talking about storage, who needs a memory card when you have 32/64 GB of internal but it is less when compared to 128 GB of Note 7 & Note 7 pro. Xiaomi also gives free 50 GB of cloud storage for its users giving them extra space with the phone. For Selfie lovers, 7S has a 13 MP selfie camera. It also has an active Infrared port which may come handy in order to control your TV and Set top Box. Its got USB 2.0 with Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.
What Exactly is reversible connector?
It's nothing but just a bit smaller to the USB cables you're used to and most importantly is symmetrical which enables you to be able to connect a Type-C without worrying about the Direction and orientation of the connector.
Speakers play a vital role in streaming online or watching a movie or listening to music with friends& family .And Redmi does give good quality sound but speakers arranged give a bit problem in Landscape mode.
In case of security, 7S has got a Finger Print Sensor (rear mounted, middle) perfectly placed where your finger can easily reach, facial recognition enabled which is good in bright light but is a bit slow in dark environment. And the pattern & pin like the old days(but still Old is Gold).
Battery life has always been a factor & Xiaomi has always been good at it. 7S comes with a 4000 mAh Li-ion non-removable battery which supports QC 4.0. Redmi has give given a QC 2.0 adapter within the box. QC 4.0 adapter needs to be bought from the market. The smartphone can get 35% charged in half an hour and full charged in around 2 hours. Standby time of the 7S is approx 250+ hours, it also gives nearly 13+ hours of video playback, 150+ hours of music playback Going to the display, it has a 6.3 inches HD+ LCD display with dot notch and a resolution of 1080×2340 and 409 ppi (pixels per inch) density. As it is strong with the software inside, it is also strong from outside with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Note 7S is badly loaded with unncesary apps along with Amazon, Netflix, Dailyhunt etc. Redmi has its own app bundle which include Mi Video, Mi Pay, Mi Community, Mi Drop etc.
Note 7s also supports multi tasking which is quiet amazing and also very smooth and fast without any delay.
7S is available in 3 shades. The Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue & in Ruby Red. Onyx Black happens to be my favorite. Let me know about your favorite color in the comments section.
Coming to the types of sensors available. 7S has accelerator & Gyro. Accelerometer measures the linear acceleration of movement & the Gyro takes note of the angular rotation, when both combined measure the rate of change. The Compass will come in handy for travel freaks and Engineers. it also has the proximity sensor hidden under the screen. 7S also has P2i splash resistant coating to protect stains.
Note 7S scored 1,41,589 in AnTuTu benchmark and 1,629 & 5,827 in Geekbench's Single and multi-core tests resply. It was better when compared to 1,628 & 5,532 scores of Redmi Note 7.
Summary:
Overall the Note 7S is good enough with performance and speed. Speaking about its sibling, 7S is a bridge between Note 7 Note 7 pro with respect to price. 7S borrows the 48 MP camera from the Note 7 Pro unline all the hardware from the Note 7.
If you want a good camera quality than go on for Note 7 Pro but if budget is the matter than 7S is the best.
