Streaming from your PC to your TV is an exciting experience and I will show you just how you're going to get that done.
The aim of getting to stream direct from your PC to your TV is to - maybe you feel like watching movies on your PC on your smart TV screen, or playing games on your TV or shoot up some of your favourite photos on a bigger screen.
So basically, here are some methods of streaming from your PC to your TV
Streaming from your PC to TV using a cable cord
How to connect your PC to a TV using a cable is quite simple. All you have to do is to connect the two using a HDMI cable - most TVs and PCs comes with a HDMI port.
• All you have to do is to switch on your laptop and your TV
• Connect your HDMI cable to both your TV and laptop
• Select the right HDMI channel on your TV - then your laptop will automatically configure it to give you the best settings.
If it doesn't
• Go to control panel
• Enter display > Adjust Resolution and select the TV in the display drop down box. Then you're good to go.
Another way is to connect the laptop to a TV through a VGA cable and a 3.5mm audio lead - which connects to your laptop's head phone port. One cable should be connected each for audio and sound. The VGA port is labelled as PC IN on the image below.
In case your laptop doesn't have a video output, you can still connect it using an adapter connected to your laptop's USB port to provide a VGA output.
Only do this if both your devices (PC and TV) doesn't have a HDMI port.
How to stream direct from your PC to your TV without cable (wireless)
Streaming wireless is awesome but it offer you using a Google Chromecast. The Google Chromecast costs about $34 or NGN11,000.
How to set up Google Chromecast
• Connect your Chromecast to a free HDMI input on your TV. Then you attach the Chromecast to a USB adaptor and plug it to a nearby main socket to power it up.
• Switch on your TV - it should automatically detect the Chromecast and switch it to the right input. If it doesn't, use your TV remote to select the HDMI input you connected the Chromecast to on the TV. The setup screen should show now.
• Install the Google home app in a web browser on the device you choose to control the Chromecast, accept the terms and conditions and connect your device to a good Wi-Fi network.
• The app will search for nearby devices, then you connect by choosing your Wi-Fi and continue. The Chromecast will connect to the internet and if necessary for you, download any updates requested.
• Follow the prompts to sign in to your Google account and complete the setup process.
• Boom! You're now ready to start casting by selecting the cast icon on the user interface and selecting your Chromecast. Many apps now supports casting, you can find these apps in your Google play store when your search for "Chromecast" - you can install a game that you can play on your TV while you control it via your phone or tablet.
