The Another Latest Review Of Sony Xperia 10 Budget Smartphone

Sony has never been as good at making mid-range smartphones as competitors like other smartphones, but the company's goal is to change it with the new Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus.

If you regularly watch movies and videos on your phone, Sony will think this is your phone. While the upcoming Xperia 1 may have the best screen on a smartphone, with 4K HDR OLED technology, this is a full HD display with an aspect ratio of 21:9.

However, this is undoubtedly a mid-range mobile phone. It may have a unique aspect ratio, but it also has a low-end chipset and some medium specifications - so how is the overall package formed?

Sony Xperia 10 Release Date And Price

If you live in the UK, you can buy Xperia 10 now, and users in the US can buy it on March 18. We don't currently have an Australian release date, but we hope this phone will land in the near future.

If your budget can be extended, the Xperia 10 Plus is priced at £349/$429.99 (about 650 Australian dollars). Then the Xperia 1, which was launched later this year, costs £849 (about $1,110 or $1,550).

Display

The screen on the Xperia 10 is not as impressive as the one on the Xperia 1, but that's because it's a more affordable phone. That is, when you first see Xperia 10, it still surprises you - and in a good way.

It is a full HD + 6-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 21:9. This means that the display is higher than the existing smartphone, and the idea here is that when you flip it into landscape, it will provide the best size display for watching videos, viewing photos or playing games.

If you're watching a movie from a particular streaming service, it makes sense because it fits well with the display and there are no distracting black bars on either side.

Sony said that almost 70% of Netflix's movies are dedicated to a 21:9 aspect ratio, while other streaming services such as Amazon and Sony's own movie store offer 21:9 content.

Don't expect all the movies and TV shows you see to be perfectly presented in this format. Most TV shows are shot at 16:9, so when we watch The Office's episode, they will have thick black bars on each side of the display.

This is to be expected, but there are another frustrating factor in the different aspect ratios: black bars mean that the content on the screen is not at the center. The top of the phone has a thick bezel, which means it is slightly off center when the video is playing. You can see what we mean in the image below:

We looked at the movie Hereditary on the Online video - this is a relatively new service upload when we wrote this comment - but it was not available in 21:9.

Design

Considering its price, the Sony Xperia 10 feels very high-end, with a metal back on the front of the glass, and it feels great - if you are looking for a reasonably priced device, this is also a good choice.

As we mentioned, this is a tall mobile phone with a size of 156 x 68 x 8.4mm and a slim handle; 162 grams is also relatively light.

We imagine that if your hand is getting smaller and smaller, it is difficult to reach the top of the display with one hand using a mobile phone. That's why Sony brings Side Sense to your phone, which you can read in the software section below.

There is a fingerprint scanner on the right side of the phone. If you are right-handed, your thumb can be easily clicked - if you are left-handed, you may find it hard to reach.

The camera sticks a little from the back of the phone, but that's not what might bother you.

It may not have the best quality design, but given how much you will spend on the Xperia 10, we are impressed with the phone.

Our Judgment

The Sony Xperia 10 is a mid-range phone that brings Sony's flagship style and unique 21:9 aspect ratio to one-third of the upcoming Xperia 1 price. It's not the best phone you can buy at this price. It means, but if you like to watch movies and TV shows on the go, it might be your best choice.
